About me
I am a northern UK-based curator and creative director working across photography, curation, game design, and filmmaking. My practice is grounded in a multifaceted, interdisciplinary approach that reflects both personal narratives and broader social themes.
At the core of my work is a commitment to confessional image-making. I am trying to become closer to the truth. I use photography as a tool for dialogue, creating what I call conversation catalysts, often in the form of photoessays. My visual language is deeply autobiographical, with styling playing a central role in how I communicate identity, memory, and belonging.
Inspired by Homi K. Bhabha’s theory of the third space, my work explores hybrid cultural identities and seeks to contribute to a more socially inclusive future. This philosophy extends into my commitment to regional equity in the arts. I actively work to amplify undervalued voices in the UK, specifically those that reside outside of London.
Informed by my artistic practice, I am a photography lecturer, workshop facilitator, and mentor. I advocate for alternative models of education and offer consultancy to emerging image-makers, supporting them in navigating their practise and building visibility.
My work has been exhibited at Factory International, Paris Photo Off, and the National Portrait Gallery as part of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. It has been featured in The Guardian, Dazed, The Standard, and Hero Magazine, as well as in an Instagram takeover for The Photographers’ Gallery. I am a Refocus Prize recipient, LensCulture Portrait Award finalist, and have received endorsement from the Prince and Princess of Wales through World Photography Day.
